Survival rates from pancreatic cancer have barely improved over the last 40 years. It is second in the 2016 NZ list of most common causes of cancer deaths. Although it accounts for only 2.5% of new cases, pancreatic cancer is responsible for 6% of cancer deaths each year. It is an aggressive cancer, difficult to diagnose early and fares poorly for research funds. Supporting research has the potential to greatly improve treatment in the future.

Some of you will know that targets are the scourge of modern management, so no targets for donations. What will give me encouragement are the growing numbers of you who donate something, whatever sum you can afford. Just a £ or a $ will do. Lets get behind this!
I am sponsoring two organisations; The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund to help globally, and the Mary Potter Hospice in Wellington to help people like Jenny locally. Choose one, or even better donate to both 🙂
